It would be interesting to know how many young sportspeople were helped in their serious sports development phases by Reggie- hundreds certainly. And like me may not have kept in contact, except perhaps for reunions. He has often been in my mind, and will always be remembered and appreciated for the encouragement, pleasure and learning we all gained from playing sport with Reggie. He set a fine example in playing sport seriously, hard and honestly, and treating team-mates and opponents well.
No doubt many will comment on how well liked and respected Brian was, his humour, mischief and his depth of character. There must have been an enormous number of people who were thrilled for him when Dale kicked those three goals in his first AFL match.
My sympathies to all your family for your loss, but no doubt all of you are extremely proud of Brian and his lifetime with so many friendships and so many contributions to others’ lives.
My thanks to Reggie.
