July 1, 2024Rosemary our thoughts are with you at this time. We have lost a good friend, a great citizen and a fantastic and gifted engineer. Malcolm, where others feared to tread you made the greatest contribution to highland irrigation efficiency within the pumped irrigation districts following the Chaffey era.
July 2, 2024
As CEO, Malcolm introduced ‘Water on Order’ giving irrigators access to water 24/7 365 days a year, first to irrigators of the Renmark Irrigation Trust and later to irrigators of the First Mildura Irrigation Trust.
This was also later adopted by the SR&WSC pumped districts of Victoria. This has underpinned the irrigation efficiency of the regions and has had huge beneficial environmental impacts on salinity and drainage in the Murray Valley.
The broader community will be ever grateful for Malcolm’s innovative accomplishments.Rosemary & family

He always encouraged us to discuss alternative ideas to improve the performance of the Trust and the water supply system to the growers.
He will be sadly missed by all members of the water industry and by the community in general

Jennie WallerRosemary and family. Malcolm was a rarity – a gentleman and honest man. We remember him through contacts through Rotary especially at conferences and many meetings at Mildura Arts Centre Performances including my race with Malcolm with our walking frames and getting our wheels locked together. Draw strength from the time you had together and remember the happy times.
