I was saddened, shocked and dismayed by learning of the sudden passing of “Des”. I have fond memories of my fishing adventures with Des and Peter (Pedro). If I ever learn to fillet a fish I will be proud to use “Des’ filleting board near the boat ramp.
Gone fishing
I thought I’d better let you know
the reason I’ve gone missing.
I’m where there’s ten-pound angel cod are.
That’s right I’ve just gone fishing.
A man named Peter at some gates
asked if I’d had permission
my fishing’ license got me in
and now I’m happy fishing.
The waters here are crystal clear
better than the Darling and Murray Rivers
you get a bite at every cast
in this lovely river Heaven.
My old mates are casting by my side
And my dear friends I’m a missing
But don’t worry all I’m happy here
Yes I’ve simply just gone fishing. My heartfelt condolences to Grant and Kel, Frances and Ross, Steven and Debbie and families.
